Day 20-Legs and back, ab ripper x

Alright, so I fell asleep as soon as I got home. Oh well, but I did wake up at 8:30 AM and do this workout. Though this time I did not have my resistance bands so I did all the pull-ups with the pull-up bar and a chair to take some of my weight off. This by no means made it easier and I still struggled to get my last rep pumped out. All in all though this was another great workout, though my ankle did start to hurt about midway through it. Still this was a great workout, until I hit ab ripper x...

Ab ripper x like always made me want to cry for my mommy. I just can't seem to get my abs used to doing these kinds of moves. I am getting better just when I think I can get to twenty reps without taking a break, I hit a wall and have to stop for a few seconds before finishing up. But all in all it's a great workout.

It looks like in twenty days I have lost five pounds...not bad really, any loss is a good loss as far as weight is concerned, and I haven't even been eating like I should. That'll start for sure when I get moved and settled into my new place. I've decided that I'm going to follow the portion guide instead of the meal guide. Honestly I just don't like most of the food that they are trying to make me eat. This will take a little more planning on my part but I think that I'll be able to manage it. Anyways we'll just have to see how that works out but tomorrow is Kenpo X, bring it!

Day 19-Cardio X

Alright another great night with cardio x. I still really enjoy this workout and was happy to do it. Though I don't think I gave it my all. I've been feeling really tired lately and my girlfriend has been staying up with me later and later. Getting off at 11pm makes it a little hard to be with the ones you love so I'm trying to deal but working out until 3am or later is starting to take its toll on me. That being said, the workout all in all was great and I finished it still with a good sweat and some sore legs...I got to the point where I couldn't jump anymore on the airborne Heisman... but that was alright. Another good workout...but I'm not sure how well I'll do tonight. It's leg and back time and I am feeling exhausted. Maybe I'll take a nap when I get home and then try to pump out my workout...hmmm...not sure how that will work but we'll see how I feel when I finally get home.

Oh and on a side note, my ankle is getting progressively worse. It's starting to hurt just putting weight on it and a visible bruise is starting to show right on little bump part of my ankle...not sure what the technical term is for that...and it hurts like a normal bruise if I touch it. Only problem is that my boot for work is always touching it...oh well. Just gonna man up until I either can't stand anymore or I get health insurance finally. Just gotta wait and see.

Dang...on another side note, my throat is hurting as well. It kinda feels like someone hit me in the throat or like I'm applying light pressure to my Adam's apple when I swallow (please no, "that's what she said" jokes...don't even think about it...) but I'm hoping that is just me getting a cold. Though I honestly can't remember a cold were my throat felt like this and I've had just about everything you can with your tonsils and though I still have them in, I'm not thinking that it has anything to do with my throat feeling as it does...oh well, we'll have to see how this works it's self out as well. Tonight, legs and back, ab ripper x...Bring it!

Day 18-Shoulders and arms, ab ripper X

Alright, really sorry I'm behind...gonna try a little catch up here. I did shoulders and arms, ab ripper x at the place where I work,(It's great having keys to everything) because I am still in the process of moving and can't find my resistance bands. So I used dumbbells this go around...not going to lie, this was much harder than the resistance bands and I basically had to cut my weight in half or more. I was using the 50lb resistance band, but the weights made it so much harder that I used 25-30lbs for shoulder presses (though the corkscrew shoulder press was much harder and I had to use 20lbs) and 20lbs for just about everything else. I think I like this workout a lot better with the weights and I'll have to try it that way again.

As far as ab ripper x goes, I managed to do a couple of the heels to the heavens before my legs plummeted back to the earth. The rest was basically the same, though I was suffering through some major indigestion...should not of had that one slice of pizza...seriously, all I wanted was a little splurge and I had one, ONE! and I got indigestion...oh well. All that to say that I still managed mostly twenty reps on all exercises but I normally had to pause for a few seconds before I could do more. All in all a good workout.

Day 16- Rest/Moving day

Okay, so from 11 am until 10 pm I moved from my old crappy apartment to a new one. And really it was me and my brother and then four other women...so that meant me and my brother moved all the heavy stuff. So by the end of the day I was so beat and ready to crash. So honestly I just couldn't do P90x that day...but I counted it as my rest day and will keep going for the rest of the week.

Day 15- Chest and Back, ab ripper x

Okay, this one I remember a lot better. I did quite a few more push-ups than I have the past two weeks. I also used my heavyest resistance band for the pull-ups. By the end of the workout out I litterally couldn't do any more push-ups. Hell, I basically only did one to three reps of my last push-ups. It was a hard workout and I pushed myself more than I have in a while. But at the end of chest and back, I still had ab ripper x and I was not feeling it at all...but I did it.

It was really a pain in the abs...lame I know, but I was so sore and reasy to be done, but I pushed and did more crunches than I have before. In the end it was a good workout and I rested quite well that night.

Day 14-Stretch X

Okay so I decided to go ahead and do strech X. It was a good end to week two. Though quite honestly I don't remember a lot of what I did that day...I'm a little behind on my blog posting. But as far as I remembered it was a good stretch. But on to the next post.

Day 13-Kenpo X

Well I didn't take a shower and I really just wanted to be lazy last night, but I did my workout anyways. I love Kenpo X and it is a fantastic workout, so I figured I would just fight through it and be done with it. Oddly enough by the end of the workout I was feeling rather pumped...sweating like crazy, but pumped. Kenpo X is just a great workout and I love doing it. Today is the rest day or stretch x...not sure what I'll do tonight, but we'll see.

On another note my ankle is feeling worse. Not all that surprising really. I'm going to start alternating heat and cold and just hope that is is a sprain or a pulled muscle that just refuses to go away. But it isn't going to keep me from doing my workouts. That I'm sure of.

Day 12-Legs and back, ab ripper X

Alright, this was an intense as you might expect from P90x, but I have noticed that I have either a hairline fracture or a pulled muscle in my right leg. I'm starting to have mild swelling, basically the skin is just looking a little deformed. However it has been hurting for weeks now and I just decided to go with it. I did my workout like always and the only time it really hurt was on the calf raises were you stand pigeon toed. Other than that it didn't hurt to bad and I managed to do my workout like I always do. On the note of the workout, I hate one leg wall squats. I don't think my legs have ever shook so bad in my life...oh well, this is P90x people, it's not a cake walk.

As for ab ripper x, I am doing quite well. I'm able to do a lot more than I was before and have noticed that my obliques in particular are starting to get stronger. This workout is getting better and I even found a way for me to do heels to the heavens. It may be cheating a little, but it works. I grabbed the bottom of my couch and used my arms to help counter the weight of my legs. It still hurt my lower abs but I was able to do them. All in all I have to say, I'm getting better at my ab workout, though my abs still burn for a good long time afterward. Thank goodness I have this recovery drink. Honestly, I did plyometrics without the recovery drink on hand after my workout and I was sore as all get out the next day. I'm not endorsing the recovery drink but it does seem to do the trick.

On another note, I have finally started seeing weight loss. I started P90x at 250 and now weigh 246. Nothing really to right home about, four pounds in two weeks, but it is a result. I just hope that I keep losing the weight and add a good bit of muscle as well. Anyways up tonight is Kenpo X. I'm not particularly looking forward to it as I am about ready to pass out as it is. It's a nice humid night and it's been a long shift...maybe I just need a nice shower before I try the workout...hmmm...sounds like a good idea to me.

Day 11-Cardio X

Okay so I've mentioned before that I loved Plyometrics and Kenpo X, well Cardio X takes both of those, throws in some yoga and calls it a day. This workout was fast paced once you get past the Yoga, but like any other part of the P90x program it still makes you sweat. This simply was a great workout and if nothing else it will help me get in better shape for yoga x if I ever desire to torment myself for an hour and a half again. All in all this was a great workout that I plan on doing again. I don't know why, but I just like the combination of Kenpo, plyometrics and a little yoga to kick it all off. Well today is legs and back, now here comes some pain.

Day10-Shoulder and ars, ab ripper x

Alright, I was so not in the mood to do this tonight but I put in my DVD and pushed play anyways. The whole workout I felt like I wanted to throw up. Which is weird because so far I've felt pretty good during the workouts. Granted, today's eating was way away from being anything healthy. But I did my shoulders and arms and managed to do at least fifteen reps for each workout, well a few of the shoulder presses I did ten, but they were a hard earned ten. Near the end I decided that I was basically having heart burn and took a few tums...they worked really fast I felt great, I finished out the workout and was ready for ab ripper x. On another note though, I still think that shoulders and arms is the easiest of the p90x workout...but that might just be me.

As for ab ripper X, it went about as well as always. Though tonight I desided that I would shoot for fifteen reps for each. I managed to squeak that many out on most exercises but I still couldn't really do "heels to the heavens"...I just can't seem to make it work. Other than that, it was a good workout. And I have to say, I am really feeling sore. I mean after week one I really didn't feel the pain, but maybe that's just because I'm trying harder and bringing more to the workout than I did when I was just getting the basic idea of what I was doing...oh well. It was another good workout, and now I think it's time to crash. Tomorrow I try Cardio X rather than doing yoga x...we'll have to see how that one works out.

Day 9- Plyometrics

Alright, day nine, plyometrics. To be quite honest, I really liked this one. I would say that plyometrics made me sweat the most out of any P90x workout. I've noticed that I'm able to last longer during the exercises then I once was. I honestly can't tell much difference in my body, in fact i've gained weight since I've started. Though granted my eating habits still leave something to be desired but I would really like to think that I have added some muscle to the mix. I know I'm able to do more durning the workouts but I honestly would just like to see an inch vanish from my gut, or my "keg" if you would rather. Though on the plus side my mom has noticed a slight change in my body, and how I look, so as long as mom isn't just trying to make me feel better, then i'd say that's a good sign. We'll just have to see how I look come day 30. But all in all Plyometrics is a great workout.

Day 8-Chest and Back, Ab ripper X

Well aside from feeling slightly ill after eating some bad strawberries today's workout went rather well. I found myself using the heaviest resistance band (the black 50lb one) on all my workouts that needed a band. I still don't think I'm quite ready to be trying pull-ups and in a week I lost maybe a pound. Then again I haven't exactly been eating great, though I've never really eaten poorly, I just have a habit of eating to much. Back to the workout though. I pushed myself to the limit today. I set my goal and met or exceeded them. My goal for standard push-ups was 15 and I managed 20. Granted, not great strides, but I've made them. I've never been able to do push-ups well, but I'm able to do more and more as I keep with the program. Though one good note that I kinda actually liked was the fact that I did a set of diamond push-ups to muscle failure. It's odd, with this program it's almost like you're trained to enjoy when your body feels like it can do no more and in that moment when I started lowering myself toward my hands and my arms just gave out, it was a good feeling. Of course I picked myself up and took a deep breath and did one more rep, then, I was done...well with that exercise, there was still plenty to do.

And of course there was the ab ripper x. Today, I did make strides. I was able to do all 25 five of the first exercise. Before my legs would give out as you have to keep them elevated the entire time. But today I made it all the way through. It was a good feeling to say the least and I managed to force out more reps for each workout. Getting at least fifteen. There is only one workout that I'm having real trouble with and that is heels to the heavens. It requires you to left your legs toward the sky and straighten your legs, then drive your legs up to the ceiling. Only problem is, i can't get my legs that high, nor can I do the exercise more than once without my body dropping my legs to the floor and having to get my legs back up to try again. Other than that one exercise I managed to do quite a bit more than last time. Can't wait to see me in 30 days. Let's that day 30 pictures don't look a lot like day 1...

Day 7- Stretch X

Okay so I decided to go ahead and do stretch x. Honestly it was exactly how it sounds, we stretched. I really wasn't to hard and I have a feeling doing this every week will help me gain a little flexibility in the process. Though honestly there isn't anything to say about it. It was an hour of stretching, though I did break a sweat, but it was a very light sweat. All in all it was a good break and it makes me ready for tomorrow, chest and back and the all important ab ripper x. Should be a blast, bring it!

Day 6-Kenpo X

Okay, yes I know I just posted about day 5 but I got a little behind in my posting. Did Kenpo X this morning. I have to say that I'm gonna have to say that this was by far the most fun I've had in a workout. It seriously is just you punching and kicking yourself into a sweat. And sweat I did. Basically you don't stop moving the whole time and even on your breaks, you take a drink of water and then you jog in place, do some jump rope (no rope needed) and jumping jacks. This workout is all cardio and if you do it right, your hart rate will be higher than I bet you ever thought you can get it. A fun workout and it made me ready for more.

Oh and a odd side note, this was the first of the workout DVD's were one of Tony's backups was a kinda chubby guy. Apparently he helped Tony come up with the Kenpo X portion of the workout but apparently he doesn't subscribe to Tony Horton's P90x...oh well. Also, I have changed the way that I am eating. I am basically just following the program as is provided in the nutrition guide. It is making me eat way more than I normally do and I have had to cut back on some meals so that I don't puke simply because I ate to much. But so far so good, though trying to cook all my meals at once is a little difficult, but I have to do it or else I eat fast food...oh well it works for me. Tomorrow Day 7 rest day or Stretch X...I'm thinking Stretch X right now but we'll see.

Day 5- Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X

Okay this was yet another fun one.I on a scale of one to ten this would have to be an 8. Though I can think of literally nothing amazing to say about the workout itself, I will state that my legs hate me for doing this. The one move that got my legs the most were the wall squats. I really didn't think much of these when we first got into the move, then ten seconds passed, then twenty, then thirty and I was out. We did this for a full 90 seconds and then we did a variation with one leg in the air and switching the leg in the air every ten seconds. Not a fun move at all. Also in between leg workouts we would throw in chin-up and pull-ups. Now I am still using a band for these as I am a little to overweight still to do real pull-ups and clumsy enough that using a chair for help would be a bad thing. But when I attempted the moves with a the green (40LB resistance band) it wasn't enough and I had to switch to the black (50LB resistance band) which seemed to work a little better for me.

Then the all important and very tiring ab ripper x. I made little improvement from two days ago. I was about the same with completing reps. I would get about ten done and then I couldn't get anymore. I still love this workout but my stomach at the end...it really hates me...seems to be a running trend with P90x, you do something so much and your body hates you for it. But I do have a feeling this is helping me and I think I'm getting stronger. Just need to stick with it and up next, Kenpo X, bring it!

Day 4-Yoga X

I would like to first point out that I have truly been trying with this workout program. I haven't quite yet and have tried everything that Tony and his motley crew have tried, however and hour and a half of Yoga is out of the question. Don't get me wrong I did the exercises but I just am not flexible and not to mention during the moving portion of the yoga (i.e. Downward Dog,Warrior 1 and 2 and so forth) you basically do the same moves over and over then add one one little twist at the end. It was repetitive and way to difficult for someone who isn't flexible and fat.

After the first 45 minutes or so the moving Yoga is done and then you get into balance. Just as difficult and I really just wanted to give up. I still gave my all trying to hold the positions but I just couldn't. I mean there is even one move where you are in a lunge, you open your chest up by rotating your opposite shoulder toward the ceiling (so if you are lunging to the right then the left shoulder is toward the ceiling) and then you place your left arm around your back and your right arm goes under your butt (technically right thigh but yeah not flexible) and you try to grab your left wrist with your right hand...now that was fun. Then we got into moves were you are standing on one leg...and that's when I called it a night. I wasn't about to try standing on one leg.

All in all Yoga X still got me to sweat but I will not be doing this again anytime soon. I instead will be substituting Yoga X for Cardio X. Now that is in no way shape or form going to make my workouts easier but at least I'm not quitting altogether. So with that said if you are flexible and feel like doing Yoga X, then by all means do so, but for me I need to switch to something else.

Fat Pictures-Photos Pre-P90x

Okay like I promised before photos of me. Now I hid my face, but with luck you will still be able to see some good results. I also feel obligated to warn you that these photos are scary and please do not try to adjust your contrast or brightness levels. I am that pale and I am covered in body hair...all around the unatractive guy with his shirt off...so here they are.

Day 3-Shoulder and Arms, Ab Ripper x

Okay this one I did late at night...I'm not quite ready for my girlfriend to know that I'm doing the P90x system just yet. That being said I was sweating to this one from 12-1 AM. But that's alright, my schedule normally has me up until 3AM and sleeping until 10:30 or 11 AM. So I did my workout and I was kinda thinking at first, "this is it?" well I quickly realized that I was sweating like crazy and my shoulders and arms felt like they had swollen to twice their normal size. But that's when I realized that they were quickly fatiguing and I was only half way through the workout. This was yet another intense workout that featured exercises that I had never heard of or could have even dreamed up. As with most of my workouts I have opted to use resistance bands as it would take me way to long to keep switching between dumbbells. Though I, for the past couple of workouts where I used bands, I just used the 40lb resistance band but this time I had to keep switching between the 40lb band (bicep curls and half of the shoulder presses) and the 20lb band (for triceps and the other half of shoulder press).

On a scale of one to ten this workout would have to be rated a 8. I still pushed myself harder than I ever have and I worked my arms to the point that I could still get one more rep out but it would have been terrible form. Though if I wanted to be honest, it was an 8 with just shoulder and arms, then I had the ab ripper x and well that made the workout an 11 or 12...I always thought that since I could knock out 25 crunches without breaking a sweat, my abs were in decent shape and I would be able that, but of course that was wrong.

I did the ab ripper x on day one as well, and honestly I did much better than day one. I fought harder to at least get half of the 25 reps knocked out, though I normally just got to 10. And before I did like two reps, rested for five of Tony's reps and then did a few more. But this time I would more times than not do 10 straight. Now, I by no means am saying I've noticed improvement just yet, but I think my mind is in this a little more now than it was at the beginning.

On another note, my eating habits are still terrible. I'm trying to eat healthier but I just haven't got the time to cook like I need to...my main problem is that I'm just not giving myself enough time to get my cooking done in the mornings. I guess I'll just have to keep working on that. And with a trip to the Urgent Care Center this morning around 8 AM for my girlfriend's neck (a pinched nerve that brought her to tears and she couldn't move her head at all) and the fact that I went to bed at 3:30 AM...I've already had an egg McMuffin from McDonalds and two bags of gummy bears and two bottles of Pepsi to try and keep me awake for my shift...I'd say I'm off to a great start. Though in the grand scheme of things the breakfast wasn't bad but in no way shape or form are Pepsi or gummy bears on any sort of healthy diet. All in all I feel like taking a big nap and going to bed but duty calls. Off to work and Yoga X tonight at 11 PM.

Day 2- Plyometrics

Okay today I did the Plyometrics DVD. It was not exactly my favorite workout in the world. It was basically a hard core cardio workout that involved lots of jumping and squats. By the end of the workout I felt completely drained, though I really shouldn't have expected anything less from P90x. I worked hard and in the end felt great about the workout. There really isn't much to say about this particular workout, it was a pain in the ass, and I mean that literally. The one thing I did notice however is that Tony had as his backup this time three graduates of the program and one had a fake leg on...it was like they were rubbing it in our faces. Look this guy with one leg has no problem jumping around like this, you shouldn't either...but honestly it wasn't an easy workout. It was just about an hour worth of a workout and quite honestly about a quarter of the way into the workout is when I would have said, "Well, I think I'll call it a day." But we just kept going, my body began to beg for me to rest, but I felt that I had to keep pushing. In the end, I have to say that I felt really good after this workout, in lots of pain, but good. Can't wait for tomorrow...

Day 1-Chest and back, Ab ripper X

Okay so I picked up my package from the leasing office this morning and opened it like a kid ripping the wrapping paper off a present Christmas morning. I assembled my pull up bar, looked through the nutrition plan and P90x booklets, and watched the first DVD which is a breakdown of the system. It was informative and I will also add, kinda pushed the idea that you should really buy their protien bars, yoga mats, and well, anything else they suggested you have...and of course if you don't have it, Beachbody sells it. With all that aside, I decided to put in the first DVD Chest and Back as I decieded I would go with the P90x Classic plan. On a side note there are three plans; P90x Classic is the normal plan that Tony stated he uses himself, the P90x Double which is basically the classic plan with an added workout at night, and then the P90x lean, which I was thinking of until Tony stated that it's for girls, basically it's more cardio and less of an upper body builder so women prefer it.

So I began to watch the Chest and Back DVD and got about twenty minutes through it (all fastforward) and decided that I might as well and see what how I faired...not so well as it turns out. I of course can't do pull-ups or chin-ups and this program is riddled with them. However it offers some good alternatives to them in the form of either using a chair to take some of your weight off or looping a resistance band around something high and studry to complete the pull-ups and chin-ups. This DVD was also full of push-ups, again not my cup of tea, but I gave it my all and hopefully did not piss off my neighbors when I grunted, sounding like a dieing animal, to try and squeeze out one more rep.

There was one upside to this workout, Tony would ask all doing the workout what number reps they were shooting for and offered to us watching at home the same thing. I would get a number in my head and would either hit that number or get a few more than I wanted to. By the end of the workout I felt drained and yet ready for more...then I realized the the plan I was doing did have me do more...the Ab ripper X.

Ab ripper X is basicall 300 plus crunches and exercises that work your core. 25 reps per exercise and I could hardly get to half of that number. But again I gave it my all and I feel better for it. Tony has, like always, a few well ripped guys and gals to back him up, so he can show you how to do it and then correct their flaws as we suffer. In the Ab Ripper X these people were ripped and still shaking in their legs, sweeting almost as bad as me and falling to bad form because of their muscles giving out. This program is tough, but I oddly enough liked it, and my goal is to make it through the Ab ripper X and do all 25 reps for each exercise...but not to sure if that will happen anytime soon.

All in all one thing is clear, this workout is going to be tough, which means you have to be tougher. Let's just hope that I can make it a full 90 days. Oh and on another note, my care package came with a container of their after workout drink called Smooth Orange. I kinda figured that it would be nasty but I think it tasted pretty amazing...kinda like Orange Sherbet...it was great. Might actually have to keep buying it even if the program doesn't work.

And for the rescord I did take pictures, they will be up sometime tonight or tomorrow...maybe even monday, I kinda lost the cable to connect it to my computer...so I'll be looking for it. But I will of course keep posting about my progress and I have a feeling my reports will be getting shorter as I go on. Bye for now.

P90x Vs. Men's Health Forums

Okay so in my down time at work I have stumbled across a P90x forum post on the Men's Health magazine website. It's basically pros and cons of the system, but there are some truly ridiculous claims made on the forums. One argument that is brought up is the fact that P90x is a ripoff and states that if you look on the forums and do some of the workouts posted and eat right you'll lose weight. Other arguments stated that due to the fact that it is an hour long workout that you do regularly and if you do any workout regularly for an hour you are bound to lose weight.

There are of course other reasons people say yay or nay for this program but quite honestly the reason people pay 300 dollars for the P90x system ( I got the addition with all the extra goodies the plain system is around the 150 mark) is rather simple, we're lazy. It takes a lot of extra effort to make your own workout program and not all of us know what we're doing when we do try to put one together. Now whether Tony Horton's program is the best one, I have no idea, but I do know that I would rather have someone put together a workout and eating program than me try and make one for myself. I, personally, am not that creative nor do I wish to try. Not to mention I paid 300 dollars for this program, I'm gonna follow it (10 minute trainer was only in the 60 dollar ball park, so I basically just didn't get to buy that new video game that I wanted).

So in the argument of pros and cons I'm still undecided as to whether P90x is worth it or not. However I can say for sure, that I am glad that someone is willing to tell me how to workout and how to eat because if it were up to me I would weigh 250 pounds and play video games when I'm not at work...on second thought that is exactly how it is now...though there are movie nights with my brother or girlfriend but that's just another excuse to eat popcorn. So all in all, a program that I am determined to follow no matter how hard it is, is exactly what I've been waiting for.

And if you would really like to see the post that I was talking about I have posted the link here. But I again stress that I will not post the link to P90x or anything that has to do with them, not even if it works for me.

P90x Vs. Men's Health Forums

Arrival Date

Okay, so the one fear I had happened. I go to work at three and most of the time my UPS guy comes right after three, go figure I missed him today. Luckily I live in an apartment complex and the office signs off for the packages but they however are not open when I get off at eleven. So I'll be starting the program either tomorrow or Monday of next week, that of course depends on if the program recommends any particular starting date.

On another note, I am unusually excited about getting my P90x system tomorrow. I felt like a child waiting for Christmas morning so I can open my presents. I guess that's a good sign. I really hope this program helps me lose this weight that has bogged me down for almost ten years now and I'm only 23. I've always been a big kid and as I'm getting older my metabolism as come to a crawl. Of course this is not a miracle cure, it is a hard core exercise program that promises to fatigue me until my muscles give up and quit...should be a blast...but I can't wait to get to try it!

The Plan of Attack

Alright, I'm not really a blogging person but I figured this was something worth blogging about. I'm not exactly a small guy, I'm not super ripped and I, as I lack better words to explain it, am a fat ass. Now in my quest for fitness, I have tried many things, the Abs Diet Power by David Zinczenko, Tony Horton's 10 Minute Trainer, Get Huge in a Hurry by Chad Waterbury and more recently Lose Twenty Pounds in 10 Weeks by Ret. Lt. Col. Bob Weinstein. My brother had amazing results with Abs Diet Power, granted he weighed 160 to start and soon he had a six pack. I had moderate gains in Strength with Get Huge in a Hurry but weight loss was not really the goal. 10 Minute Trainer bored me and couldn't keep me interested and the same goes for Lose Twenty pounds in 10 Weeks, I just couldn't seem to keep with them. Call me undisciplined if you will or call me lazy, both fit. But truth be told, I don't know many people that would keep with a workout program if they didn't enjoy it. So my journey became one of finding a workout program that would keep me motivated and through lots of looking, I'm going back to Tony Horton and trying P90x.

So first things first, I currently weigh 250 at 5'11" with an estimated 36 inch waist and 25% body fat and I of course will make those estimates official when my P90x arrives (should be the 8th). Now I have done plenty of looking around on the web to try and find a valid review and call me skeptical, but I have a hard time believing a reviewer that has links to the website to by the product they are reviewing, along with advertising about the product plastered on their webpage. Now don't get me wrong if this works, I will be sure to tell everyone I know to buy P90x, but I will not post links to their website of any kind.

What to expect from my blog, that is simple, a daily post about how the program is going as well as the all to important pictures. As it is in the world today, pictures can be edited and the truth and changed to however you like. That being said know that my pictures will not be touched by any editing soft ware. If I could get away with not putting pictures of my fat self on the internet without a shirt on I would, but for the sake of the experiment, I will.

So feel free to read, to post, and to laugh along with me as I see whether Tony Horton's P90x is for real, or total BS.
